Power (SLP-112) Print E-mail
6-weeks ($60 registration and $20.50 for book and materials)

In today’s world many lust after power, but what would you guess enables leaders to get power and keep it? And why do some people choose to be powerless with a victim mentality? These are only a couple of the questions that are answered in this timely and relative course for developing leaders with lasting power to influence and make a difference.
The irony is that power is so poorly understood. In this highly interactive, online course students move past the classic work of French and Raven’s types of power to get clear about power and leadership and how to get it and keep it. Students learn three fundamental power strategies developed by Blaine Lee in his book, The Power Principle: Influence with Honor. After this course, students will not see power again through the same lens.

POWER is taken online over 6 weekly segments or modules. Each week participants read assignments and electronically post discussion ideas when it is most convenient for them, but also taking care to meet the Wednesday submission deadline for that week. They comment on other classmates’ ideas by Friday of each week often engaging in lively debate. Challenging exercises and activities help apply lessons learned and, according to former students of other MAT online courses, make it really fun!
